Tipi Making Gathering
November 2/3/4, 2007

The focus for our Gathering was to build a Tipi from some old canvas tents.

After posing for a few photos, it was time to get to work.

We measured out the size of the Tipi on the concrete patio.
We decided on making a 14 foot Tipi.

After we cannibalized the tents for their canvas,
we chalked out the pattern for the Tipi on the patio.

Then we placed the canvas on the pattern to maximize it's usage.

While some of the working crew sewed the canvas,

... others collected poles and stripped the bark from them.

With 14 poles to get stripped, the crew worked hard
to get them done and moved to the drying rack.

Cezary used the Tracker Knife to knock the
knots off so they wouldn't damage the canvas

Although we didn't get the Tipi completely built, we came close. The exterior canvas was finished, the interior canvas had a few pieces remaining to be sewed and the poles were collected, stripped and placed on the drying rack. When we get together for our next event, we'll finish up the remaining work and put it up.

Thank you to all who attended and shared their love, laughter and wonderful energy.
