The forecast looked fabulous.We were excited
about getting our hides done this weekend.
On Saturday morning, the girls decided to
start off the day with a swim in the pond.
Have you ladies considered synchronized swimming?
Mimi used egg yokes instead of brains to tan
her deer hide. It proved to be very effective.
Mimi and Felicia worked together to run the hide through the wringer.
Kim used the lariat to stretch and buff her deer hide.
With all the hard work, it wasn't hard to get
people to recharge their batteries with some lunch.
Eric works his hide. Note the size of the hide. It is from a big
white tail deer and required a lot of hard work to strech and dry.
Anyone seen my contact lens?

Hide Stretching is a lot easier with many hands.
Saturday was very humid and the hides would not dry.
On Sunday, we worked in the full Sun to get them to dry.
Cezary got right into the hard labour of working with the hides.
Two hides are shown here being smoked.This weekend worked out very well. We got several hides made into beautiful buckskin. Now all we have to do is decide what to make with them.
