Buckskin Clothing Making
and Beading Workshop
October 15/16/17, 2004

Priscilla, our Workshop Leader, taught us the
X-Stitch and the Running Stitch. With these two stitches we
were let loose to get started on our projects.

We spread out on various tables and got busy.

Great care was taken to cut out the pieces.

The edges were punched so we could join the pieces with lacing.

Here's what the X-Stitch looks like.

Here is the Handbag that Priscilla made during her visit.

Just before Priscilla left on Saturday, we
got together to show our work in progress.
We had such a wonderful weekend. We learned so much from Priscilla and we had so much fun putting it into practice. It was really scary making the first cuts into the buckskin, but, once we got rolling, we had a blast.
Thanks to Priscilla for her knowledge and patience. We hope she can come back another day to see our creations and show us a few more beading and buckskin secrets.

On Sunday, the gang continued working on their buckskin clothes. After a very productive day, the following photos were taken. Although none of the projects are actually finished, you can see they are well on their way to being beautiful buckskin garments.
